Hall of Dreams

When I was a little girl, I remember seeing albums recorded by my heroes at the Royal Albert Hall - Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, etc - and thinking, "someday I will play there."  For years I held that dream close to my heart, assuming it was still a far off wish, until last week I played it not once but twice in the span of 72 hours.  The first time I was there, with Gary Barlow, I was practically shaking with nerves in front of the 5000+ people, though I managed to take in the Queen's box, the lit-up mushrooms hanging from the ceiling, and the gorgeous round room with crystal clear acoustics.  The second time I was there, with Jools Holland, the place was again sold out, but this time I managed to fully relax into the joys of standing on that stage.  You don't always get to hear from artists how magical they know their lives are, so I am admitting to you now how geeked out I was.  But there's no time for too much self-congratulation, since I'm only 7 shows into a 40 date tour.  Must pace myself and not get too excited!
